Our latest product - the VWR RacingLine Rear Disc/Rotor Upgrade - replaces the original rear ventilated discs of A5-platform vehicles with beautifully engineered motorsport-inspired 2 piece ventilated, grooved discs and aluminium bells (or top hats).
As we have retained the dimensions of the original rears (at 310mm x 22mm), this is a simple, direct replacement disc with no other changes needed to rear calipers, pads or mounting hardware.
Not only do the replacement rear discs deliver a better resistance to warping under high heat applications, they also give a reduction of around 7% in unsprung mass.
This is the ideal compliment to the VWR Big Brake Upgrade (or any other front brake upgrade), and also significantly improve the aesthetics of the car. The design and finish of the bells (top hats), and the groove cut are a perfect match the VWR BBK.
We believe that this is a unique product and gives you an additional sales opportunity to any customers who already have a front BBK fitted - especially those with the VWR Big Brake Kit.
APPLICATION GUIDE
The VWR Rear Disc Upgrade is a direct replacement disc for all Golf 7 R and GTI PP, Golf 6 R and Ed 35, Golf 5 R32, and other models such as Scirocco R, Audi S3/RS3, TTS that use the larger 310mm ventilated disc as standard.
For all these models, fitment is a direct disc replacement. No other changes are needed at all. We would always recommend that new pads are fitted at the same time as new discs.
Customers with cars such as the Golf 5/6 GTI with the smaller solid rear discs could upgrade to the larger OEM calliper and also fit the VWR Rear Disc Upgrade.
