This silicone-coated fiberglass heat shield tubing is used to protect hoses and wire harnesses from high heat, such as seen in the engine bay of cars with turbochargers. This unique material starts out as a woven fiberglass tube which is then is coated with a thick layer of heat-resistant silicone. This 1ﾔ size is commonly used to protect -10AN oil drain, catch can, or oil cooler hoses from heat. Once installed, you can finish off the ends with a piece of heat shrink for a uniform, clean look.
