Integrated Engineering camshaft install kits will remove any question of what hardware and gaskets are needed for proper camshaft installation. These camshaft install kits fit all VW/Audi 06A/058 engines and include all components that will need to be replaced; we have even included a high quality synthetic assembly lube and RTV gasket sealant. Basic Camshaft Install Kit
(Fits all 06A/058 1.8T engines)

The basic cam install kit features a new OEM lifter set, IE/ARP cam gear bolt, OE gaskets and hardware, Redline assembly lubricant, and RTV gasket sealant. Hydraulic lifters should be replaced when installing new camshafts as the camshaft lobe profile and lifter surface wear together creating a precise wear pattern. Always replace lifters with camshafts to guarantee proper valve lift. Installing lifters and camshafts with high quality Redline assembly lubricant will guarantee that there is no early metal wear on the lifters, cam lobes, or cam journals before oil pressure is built up in the cylinder head. Once the new lifters and camshafts have been installed, all necessary gaskets are included and sealed properly with RTV gasket sealant. Ensuring your cam gear stays put under increased RPM and engine load, and IE/ARP cam gear bolt is included. With upgraded camshafts and higher RPM, there is much more stress on the cam gear keyway, this added stress can result in complete engine failure. Integrated Engineering teamed up with ARP to offer an aerospace grade heat treated cam gear bolt which allows for a larger clamping force on the cam pulley. This added clamping force will ensure that the cam gear keyway will not slip.

Ultimate Camshaft Install Kit
(Available for both 06A and 058 1.8T engines)

The ultimate cam install kit features all the hardware, gaskets, assembly lubricant, and gasket sealant of the basic cam install kit with the added reliability and performance of an IE billet adjustable cam gear, IE/ARP cam gear bolt, and IE/EKagrip cam gear friction shim disc. Gain complete control of your power band with an Integrated Engineering billet adjustable cam gear by advancing or retarding your cam timing. This adjustment allows you to dial your new camshaft setup for peak power. Each cam gear is precision CNC machined from solid 6061 aluminum, and features a real one piece male keyway. The cam gear outer rings are machined to OE specifications for a perfect mesh with your timing belt and hard anodized for wear. The threads are roll form tapped to create the toughest threads available, and then stuffed with high quality stainless ARP bolts to lock it all together. Finally, a flawless layer of bright dip anodizing is interrupted only by the crisp laser etching which ensures you can always know exactly where your cams are positioned. Performance camshafts and stiffer valve springs will add more stress on the cam gear/camshaft interface resulting in more surface wear leading to complete failure and engine damage. An IE/ARP cam gear bolt is again used to ensure your cam gear keyway stays put, with the added insurance of the IE/EKagrip friction shim disc. This patented nickel and diamond coated friction shim increases the friction between the cam gear/camshaft interface by up to 300%, greatly increasing the load which can be carried. The shims are .008" thick, and will not cause any alignment issues.
